What is a disability risk assessment?
Key aims of a disability risk assessment:
- to identify where adjustments can be made to ensure that disabled people can access the same range of services as non-disabled people
- to make reasonable adjustments to the way you deliver your services so that disabled persons can access and use them
- to ensure that all customers can participate and enjoy your services
Why do you need a disability risk assessment?
In order to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act, you must make ‘reasonable adjustment’ if you cannot offer a disabled person the same service that you would offer anyone else. This may require an audit of your premises accessibility and the services themselves.
