Food Alert has been named ‘Business of the Year’ and 'Best SME' at the first ever Kensington & Chelsea Business Awards, held on the 18 October at the Millennium Gloucester Kensington Hotel.
Hosted by the Kensington & Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, in association with Banham Security as headline sponsor, the 2018 Kensington & Chelsea Business Awards aimed to recognise and reward the achievements of the local business community across the whole of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. There were twelve awards in total and all category winners were put forward for the coveted title of overall ‘Business of the Year’.
Food Alert was selected for the ‘Business of the Year’ award due to their extensive range of innovative services, which includes the most comprehensive safety compliance and auditing software available, coupled with a unique blend of high-level consulting expertise and industry knowledge. This has seen them win contracts with major hospitality groups and service more individual restaurants than any other safety consultancy in the UK.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Food Alert’s Managing Director David Bashford said: “We are thoroughly delighted to have won both the Business of the Year and Best SME awards. This comes as recognition for all the hard work and investment we have put into developing our compliance software and services. On behalf of everyone at Food Alert, I would like to say thank you very much for these awards.”
Presenting the award, Martin Herbert, Managing Director, from headline sponsor Banham Security, said: “Selecting a winner-of-winners from among the successful cohort of category winners was by no means an easy or simple task. The decision to choose tonight’s business of the year, and ultimately our ambassador for business in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea for the next twelve months rightly took time. However, I’m thrilled that Food Alert were selected as the winner and I extend my congratulations to them.”
Michael Stone, Chairman of Kensington & Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, added: “These inaugural awards demonstrate that we have a vibrant and engaging business community in Kensington & Chelsea. I am completely amazed at the quality and high standard of the businesses we have in the borough and I’m proud of all those who entered the awards. Huge congratulations to all our finalists and especially to Food Alert as overall winner.”
