Maternity Cover: Interim Head of Quality and Safety – Fixed Term

Location: Central London
Start date: Immediate

Food Alert is a London based food hygiene and health & safety consultancy, auditing and advising many of the UK’s most recognisable restaurant brands. This includes the Azzurri Group, a UK-wide restaurant chain which includes Zizzi, Ask Italian and Coco di Mama.

Azzurri Group's Head of Quality and Safety is currently on maternity leave and we are recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced Environmental Health Professional to temporarily fill this roll. It is anticipated that the role will require 3-4 days a week focused on maternity cover for Azzurri, with the remaining time being spent on supporting other Food Alert clients.

It is likely that this interim role will run until approximately May 2019.

Main duties:

  • Managing a small team of safety professionals.  
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of quality and safety related to the Azzurri Group
  • Ensuring that Azzurri Group complies with all food hygiene and safety legislation and provides high quality food and drink products for consumption 
  • Provide up-to-date and accurate advice to the business on a variety of quality and safety issues
  • Implement, review and amend quality and safety audit systems to accurately reflect on all policies, procedures and food safety, health & safety and quality related matters

Skills and experience:

  • Qualifications to include Environmental Health Degree, Higher Certificate in Food Safety, NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior or similar reporting position
  • Clear, confident and effective communication
  • Serious about delivery - organised, self-motivated and great at prioritising
  • Facilitate the success of others – recognise development needs, have a positive approach, coach and support
  • Focus on customers – belong to their team, be transparent, consistent and compassionate

Associate Auditor

Start date: Immediate

Client Services Co-ordinator

Location: Central London

Food Alert is actively looking for a proficient Client Services/Planning Coordinator who is successful in lending themselves to client facing enterprises, through excellent communication skills and effective professionalism concerning completing tasks. Our Client Services Coordinator will work across the planning and client support teams and will aid with providing administrative and database services to clients, consultants and head office staff.

Graduate Consultant

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting start to a career in Environmental Health. This position is under the guidance of qualified EHP’s / food hygiene and health & safety professionals. The day-to-day role will cover food safety, health and safety and fire safety. The job will entail the investigation of allegations of food poisoning, accident investigations, auditing, training/coaching and much much more. On the job training will be provided to help develop your understanding of the business. 

The position is available immediately and is on a permanent contract basis​ and not limited to one year.  Many of our Graduate Consultants are now Senior Consultants, advancing in their career within Food Alert.

Due to the nature of the job, we are only interviewing candidates who have successfully completed their degree exams.
