Food Alert acquires Common Sense Compliance Ltd

Food Alert has announced the acquisition of Common Sense Compliance Ltd. by its parent company, The Citation Group, further strengthening its food safety, sustainability and global supply chain solutions.

The acquisition is a further strategic step in Food Alert’s mission to simplify compliance and build better businesses, bringing together smart technology, deep sector knowledge and expertise to help the food industry address the challenge staying ahead of ever-changing and complex compliance regulations.

Founded in 2009, Common Sense Compliance Ltd. has built a strong reputation supporting hospitality businesses – such as De Vere, Bespoke Hotels, Coast & Country Hotels and Compass Group – with food hygiene, health and safety and leisure advice.

Having successfully integrated SureFoot Solutions, NT Assure and STS, this is the fourth key acquisition by Food Alert in the last 18 months as it looks to grow and improve its offering to the food sector.

Food Alert’s Managing Director, David Bashford, said:

“We are excited to welcome Common Sense Compliance Ltd. into Food Alert, who share our commitment to work in partnership with clients to help build and champion a safety culture in their businesses. This is Food Alert’s fourth acquisition in the last 18 months, which helps us support even more hospitality businesses with their food hygiene and health & safety.”

“We’ve seen a greater focus on food safety, sustainability and secure supply chain solutions and I’m proud that with our growing talented team we’re leading the way in providing innovative technology-enabled solutions to give our clients confidence and peace of mind, so they can focus on what they do best.”

Common Sense Compliance’s Managing Director, Lee Matthews, added:

“Over the last 15 years, CSC has gone from strength to strength and am excited by this next step in our journey. Food Alert has a fantastic reputation and has been setting the standards for food safety and compliance for more than 30 years and this move is a positive development for our team and clients as we continue to provide high quality services to the food sector.”
