Avoiding food fraud in your business

Food fraud might not hit the headlines on a daily basis, but it’s a bigger issue for the food industry than you might think. According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the estimated value of fraudulent food and drink in the UK is between £296 million and £1.48 billion every year – that’s a lot of money.

So, to help you out, members of the Food Alert Technical Advisory Board (TAB) have put together a handy checklist to help you spot and prevent food fraud in your business using the 8 Ps as a basis – product, price, packaging, place, phone number, pinpoint, people and promotion.
