Leicestershire pub offers free breakfast
But there’s a catch… you have to be wearing your pyjamas! The Mill on the Soar Hungry Horse pub at Broughton Astley is offering a free breakfast to any locals who visit in their nightwear this weekend, with diners able to choose from a range of new dishes including Breakfast in Bread or the Sausageness Monster – a one-metre-long curled sausage sarnie. “After a long year stuck at home more people are getting out and about in the mornings or treating themselves to something tasty they just couldn’t make at home,” says Andrew Kesteven, general manager.
Boxpark comes to Bristol
Shipping container concept Boxpark has released plans to open its first site outside of London at Welsh Back Bristol’s O&M sheds. Set to launch in the summer of 2022, Boxhall Bristol will be home to an imaginative food hall set to feature local and independent street food traders. The 20,000 sq ft venture will have seven kitchens and two external terraces overlooking the waterside, aiming to capture the essence of the area’s historical value.
Jason Manford to headline charity pub show
Comedian Jason Manford is set to raise a laugh in memory of former radio presenter, Michelle Mullane, who helped his career take off. Hailing from Salford, Jason will headline an open-air show over Easter Bank Holiday next year at The Oast House in Manchester, with all profits going to Cancer Research UK’s “Howl for the Bowel” campaign. Michelle was a former XFM radio presenter who died from bowel cancer in 2020.
